Patrick Wu, Electives Manager (Political Theory, 2016 Sem 2)
"I enjoy the curiosity and the enthusiasm on the part of the students in the program. Their questions constantly expose blind-spots and assumptions within my own thinking, and I leave every lesson having learned something new about the topic which I’ve been ostensibly teaching them. I also enjoy just having the opportunity to give back some of what I’ve been lucky enough to learn these past few years, both throughout high school and in college."
Patrick is a second-year philosophy major. He is primarily interested in political theory and normative philosophy, although he maintains interests in economics, mathematics, and game theory. Recently, he has become increasingly concerned about the logic of nuclear deterrence.
Anandita Sabherwal, Electives Manager (Psychology, 2016 Sem 2)
"Every Saturday, I marvel at kids' ability to simultaneously be complex and simple. Upon growing up, I have found myself overthinking simple scenarios and glossing over concepts that require complex thought. In KidsAccomplish! I relearn curious, complex thinking from the students every time when they integrate concepts and ask me if "neuronal electrical impulses mean our body functions as a circuit." And also learn to simplify my life by following their simple, one-step solutions to life problems, words of wisdom sprinkled across their playful break, "if you get stressed, just play with my slime stress-ball"."
Anandita is a sophomore deeply in love with Psychology. Through research in mindset and motivation, she especially wants to explore Psychology's contributions to pedagogy. She believes that abilities and interests are ever expanding, inversely proportional only to laziness!
